dc.description.abstract | The beginning of communication for deaf children is a challenge, as deaf people have to learn two languages, the Brazilian Sign Language – “Libras” and Brazilian written Portuguese. Children begin to develop gestures from an early age and as soon as they enter a Libras teaching institution, they adapt from the gesture to the correct signs of Libras. According to the “MEC” it is important that deaf children start contacting Libras as early as possible. At this time it is possible that digital technologies are used to assist in this task. Currently, teaching is part of technology, and for this reason, an application prototype will be developed for deaf children, with the objective of stimulating communication through learning Libras, from the beginning, instead of just gestures, thus helping them with their communication in society. The purpose of this application is to address the alphabet, numbers, family, food and animals (basic signs of everyday life) for children, making them able to better understand things from a young age and be able to communicate from an early age. | |
