dc.description.abstract | This work aimed to represent and evaluate wastewater treatment operations in a bench scale using alternative materials. For that, a representative model of wastewater treatment was constructed, in preliminary, primary, secondary and tertiary levels, with alternative low cost materials, as organizing boxes and aquarium compressors. For the analysis and model validation, the raw efluente was donated by a packaging industry and the anaerobic sludge by a brewery. The process efficiency was measured by means of the drop percentage in the following indicators: Turbidity (uT), COD (mg/L O2), BOD (mg/L O2) and total solids (mg/L). The parameter with the highest percentage reduction was turbidity (75%). The results confirmed the possibility of a wastewater plant bench scale representation. | |
