dc.description.abstract | The convergent technology, also called multiple technologies, when applied in concert can help boost productivity in the automotive sector. Multiple technologies, such as data collectors, database systems, software, among others, were applied and used to carry out the activities of collecting, storing and processing data to produce machining centers (equipment that removes workpiece material, giving you fit and finish) in a real company in the automotive sector. Although these technologies were prepared to generate and provide information on various media online so those responsible for decision making. All these activities that were previously performed manually, make the monitoring process of machining centers. A comparison between the processes of monitoring manual and automated by the use of convergent technology was developed and demonstrated through flowchart. It was identified that the application of convergent technology to monitor machining centers in the automotive sector decreases downtime and reduces operating costs while speeding the delivery of information. The application stores the events output as data generation and contributes to the organizational memory. The various ways in which this application distributes information facilitate the creation of knowledge in the company. It was possible to identify that the application of technology convergence promotes process improvement knowledge management in the automotive industry. The result of this use promotes a new way of working with the information, and its benefits favor the company in the market against competitors. | |
