dc.description.abstractToday the companies, due to the rapid increase in demand, need to increase their efficiency to compete with rivals companies. The layout is an important factor for the operational efficiency of a company. Good planning and organization of the productive processes offer a path to the search for efficiency. In this context, the objective of this work was to propose a new layout for a small metallurgical company based on the SLP (Systematic layout planning) methodology. In the new layout it was suggested to change productive sectors and to remove unnecessary materials for production. It was concluded that the SLP method was efficient in creating the proposed layout.
