dc.description.abstractThis work was the subject of playful use as a pedagogical resource in the teaching of children with intellectual disabilities, with a focus on the children of the State School Little Prince, the Municipality of Alto Piquiri. Displays ludo educational toys and games, as well as its evolution as a methodological resource. Stresses the importance of games in the teaching of children, especially those have limitations in their learning. Discusses the process of learning and inclusion of the child with intellectual disabilities, emphasizing the importance of inclusion for learning to occur. Displays the play through the game of chess as a resource efficient in teaching intellectually disabled children, and the importance of practice in schools as a teaching aid. Complemented by field research, the study found, through interviews and observations, the chess game used for teaching children with intellectual disabilities is of great importance. Brings as a result of the improvement in study skills development and learning of diverse curricula of children who participate in recreational activities, like playing chess.
