The present dissertation exposes a new possibility of interdisciplinary teaching involving Physics and Music. The main objective of the work is to promote a link between the contents of physics, such as electromagnetic and music, as the parameters of sound. We raise questions about the possibility of making use of an affordable musical instrument to increase access to musical awareness. A musical instrument, the Theremin, was built along with a self-sufficient guide on how to do it, to give Physics and Music teachers a tool to work interdisciplinarily. The specific objectives consist in describing the history of the Theremin instrument and its operation, with biographical data of its homonymous author and to report the construction process of an Optical Theremin to elaborate a suggestion of concepts to be worked in the disciplines of Physics and Music. To reach the purpose of these proposals the methodology used was the development of workshops from the Action Research and the Bibliographic Research. In the final considerations of this work we will expose the importance of drawing parallels when reconstructing historical moments, artistic results of the practical workshops, the pedagogical tool provided to the teachers that appropriate themselves with this theme and suggestions for growth in the area.
