dc.description.abstract | There is a growing trend in the use of alternative sources, both economically, environmentally and logistically. With this growing scenario, studies and research involving other forms of energy generation by alternative sources are needed, and as a focus of this work, a study on photovoltaic solar energy applied in an industrial installation. With this principle, there is a lack of information on the subject involving the quality of electric power (QEP) in photovoltaic systems, and thus, this research has the general objective of disseminating the research on electric power quality from the point of view of the insertion Of a photovoltaic system (PVS), showing what the impact of such a system is on an installation, in this case industrial. As specific objectives were performed the installation of the photovoltaic system, the description of the system, concepts and norms on PVS and quality of electric energy, in addition to data collection by means of an energy analyzer. Thus, two measurement steps were performed in the company in question, the first one before installing the PVS and the other after installing the PVS. The measurements showed the voltage behavior, total harmonic distortion levels (THD) of voltage and current, power factor, power consumed (and then power generated) and frequency. The results after the PVS is inserted in the system show that the system had significant changes mainly in current THD and in the power factor, which are well outside of the levels accepted in standards, as stated in “Prodist – Módulo 8: Qualidade de energia elétrica”. However, power generation was able to meet a portion of the active power demand of the facility and also, at times, to transmit the surplus to the grid. | |
