dc.description.abstractWith the objective of evaluate the influence on part quality and cycle time of different injection mold cooling channels, Moldflow [trade mark], a simulation software, was used to evaluate the performance of six different cooling channels configurations (in series, parallel and both with baffles and bubblers). A polypropylene automotive hub was designed for the simulation. The results of cooling channels circuit pressure, Reynolds number, time to eject temperature and part warpage were evaluated. It was concluded through the results obtained with the computer simulation that the channels with baffles and bubblers did not present advantages and the channels in parallel and series showed similar times, however for the channels in parallel it was necessary a lower pressure, so the latter was considered the best option.
