Dimensionamento dos principais componentes de uma bomba de engrenagens aplicada a um veículo de alta performance

Abstract

Talking about high performance vehicles, difficulties about the fuel system are usually found. The solutions for fuel supply available in the market to this type of vehicle, does not provide the necessary demand of fuel, thus it is necessary to rearrange the system or to use more of these pumps, shunt connected. However, these modifications can cause a lot of problems in the system or in the components. This paper was developed given the need of a higher fuel rate, provided by the fuel pump to this type of vehicles. There were elaborated the design of the main components of a gear pump, applied to a high-performance vehicle, that in this case is the vehicle used by the UTECH Performance team of the Federal University of Technology – Paraná – Campus Pato Branco. In this paper are presented the design and the adjustments to the transmission shaft, the gears, the pulley keyway, the minimum thickness for the housing pump and besides being presented the bearings life check.
