This work proposes the study of a piezoelectric material attached to a rectangular metallic board as both sensor and actuator behavior. The fundamental concepts and the theoretical developments are presented. First of all, in order to accomplish this work goals, it was necessary make a study of its natural frequencies, and then different analysis attempting to understand the behavior of this material in several conditions that can be submitted. The results are presented thought a numerical simulation in the Ansys commercial software where relevant aspects of the static and dynamic behavior under vibration are evaluated, such as deflection, natural frequencies and electric potential. For finishing this work, the simulation results are compared with the experimental results previously achieved in the laboratory.
