Music is a cultural activity that accompanies humanity since its beginnings, and is reproduced by various physical principles, such as percussion, strings and wind instruments. The advance of the electronics allowed the development of audio synthesizer systems, such as the RCA Mark I, in the 1950s, and the Moog Synthesizer, in the 1960s. Audio synthesizers are electronic circuits that can be controlled in order to generate various waveforms, perform amplitude modulations and frequency variations. With time, these instruments became popular accompaniment of other musical instruments and even as the only instrument for entire soundtrack compositions. This Electronic Engineering Undergraduate Thesis aims to develop and produce a printed circuit board of a monophonic audio synthesizer with technical specifications similar to other equipment in the market, containing a MIDI input to allow communication with other audio devices and analog signals processing modules, denominated Voltage Controlled Oscillator(VCO), Voltage Controlled Filter (VCF), Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO), Envelope Generator (EG) amd Voltage Controlled Amplifier (VCA). The developed prototype was richly tested and evaluated and complied with all project specifications.
