dc.description.abstractThis report presents a theoretical analysis of the solar energy scenario in Brazil, some categories of solar plates adopted on the solar system energy reception, as well as their the wiring diagrams and finally, the methodology applied to charge batteries when used as a storage unit for the energy from solar plates. Then, is presented the development of converter based on the Buck-Boost topology in order to charge a battery by a constant voltage, where the voltage source consist of a photovoltaic solar plate. As a result, a prototype circuit was dimensioned and built, the data collected focused on the current end voltage waves present at the switch, inductor, diode and the output. To control the cyclic rate of the switching, it was used a pulse width modulator controller.
