dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the present article is to understand the appropriation made by Gerald Thomas, a Brazilian theater director, of the works of Marcel Duchamp, focusing The Bicycle Wheel (1913). Thomas uses it on the creation of the play Carmem Com Filtro 2.5 (1986), by the procedures of artistic fragmentation, with great attention to details and plasticity of his work, also leaving highlighted the style (of appropriation) adopted by him. Thus, it will be studied how the play was made and as it relates to the proper objects.
