dc.description.abstractThis research presents a study of exposure to biological risk, with focus on employees of selective collection in the municipality of Dois Vizinhos. The study was conducted in the municipality of Dois Vizinhos - PR, with employees of selective waste collection. Since the form is applied structured with objective and subjective questions. The questionnaire was made to employees after completion of work. After the data were analyzed and their means were compared using a specific spreadsheet software. However in this study it was found that 100% of employees waste collection in the city of Dois Vizinhos are male, the majority were in the age group of 18 to 25 years, being married (70%) and low level of education . As working time in the company only 10% are employees more than 5 years, 80% think the environment good job and 70% still have no suggestions for improvement. Regarding exposure to risk 80% of respondents think that the activity brings danger, 62.50% think that these risks are related to transit. About PPEs it was found that 100% of respondents use all required PPE properly on all the time work. Hand hygiene during working hours 80% responded that they wash their hands in the intervals of work, and most (50%) use soap and water for cleaning. Related to diseases that can be caused by work 60% and 40% had never, ever had diseases such as vomiting and diarrhea, however everyone did the right treatment. All respondents (100%) claim to avoid skin contact with the waste. Suggestions for improvements proposed by staff are already being evaluated by the company, some of which have already been resolved.
