dc.description.abstractCurrently the computer has become essential for anyone seeking a place in society. The introduction of computers in educational institutions is that students and teachers have at hand a powerful tool for teaching and learning because they can create new theories to practical experiments explained in several disciplines. This work had as its theme the teaching of mathematics in conjunction with information technology, and drew a parallel to how teaching and learning improved with the use of new technologies in relation to traditional teaching (without the use of these new technologies). The methodology used was a survey of use in schools and a discussion of the process while also addressing the use of home computer as an aid to his family during the child's education.
