The number of amputated people who use prostheses is significant in Brazil, this is the reason why studies on improving life quality of these patients are required. The focus of this work is to achieve the necessities of people who lost their hand because the lack of the lith has a negative impact on their life quality. The prosthesis is an instrument used to replace a lith or an organ. However, it is difficult to develop a prosthesis that presents high similarity to the human hand. The aim of this study is to develop and manufacture a hand prosthesis with kinematic and dynamic characteristics similar to the human hand using 3D printing and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene. Therefore, Solid Works 2015 version was used for prosthesis parts modeling, Slic3r, Repetier softwares and homemade 3D printer were used for 3D printing. After assembly, the prosthesis was submitted to kinetic analysis, by evaluating degrees of freedom and angles and rays of action; and dynamic analysis, by effort test using Jamar dynamometer and grabbing and clamping test. The obtained prosthesis presents low cost, lightweight and resistance. Some modeling and printing adjustments were needed during manufacturing. The prosthesis presented better kinematic characteristics (14 degrees of freedom and angles and rays of action similar to human hand) than dynamics (grip strength and grasping and clamping capacity lower than the human hand).
