dc.description.abstractThis work presents the study of a two-dimensional inverse heat transfer problem using the Golden Section method, based on experimental and numerical methodes. Aluminium SAE 305 and cast iron test samples were used. To accomplish this, the heat diffusion equation was solved numerically using the finite volume method with an implicit formulation in time and the linear system was solved using CGS method. The experiment was performed by adapting an apparatus used to mesure the thermal conductivity of materials. The boundary conditions imposed were heat flux on the top surface, prescribed flux on the bottom surface and the remaining faces were set as isolated.
