In this work a study was made diming to improve the Stirling engine type gama, designed and built by Crestani (2016). The Stirling engine works with an expansion and contraction of a confined gas generating work. This phenomenon occurred due the temperature level, being one hot part (where the heat is supplied) and a cold part (where the heat is withdrawn). This engine, which was built, uses running water to make the cold part of the engine cool. Thus, the study of heat transfer in the cold chamber of the Stirling engine was approached with the purpose of using a closed system to cool the cold part. The internal geometry of the cold chamber has been simplified with suitable approximations to facilitate calculations of heat exchanges. It was a step-by-step methodology, dividing the problem into small groups and comparing it as existing interactions. The results were obtained through iterative calculations, making a balance of energy between each of the regions, using the equations to determine the variables of interest. The entire process was considered as permanent regime, thus eliminating temperature variations over time. The study shows that the heat transfer by natural convection can be neglected in relation to forced convection. The thermal power to be withdrawn from the cold part of the engine is approximately 780W.
