dc.description.abstract | This paper shows some of the usual techniques for horizontal stabilization of multistory steel structures, with their advantages and disadvantages, and perform linear and nonlinear analysis of the behavior of systems from a case study. This study evaluated the effects of horizontal loads acting on the building, in order to compare each of the systems proposed in their technical requirements and functionality. The increased demand for metal buildings of multiple floors the further study is necessary of such techniques, considering the variety of options presented in the literature and in use worldwide. The results obtained for structural systems show the importance of the use of combinations of vertical and belt trusses, beyond the differences between the first and second-order analysis of each system. | |
