Estudo de caso da implantação do pilar de controle da qualidade da metodologia WCM

Abstract

The main goal of this work is to study the implantation of the quality control Pillar of the World Class Manufacturing methodology in a Brazilian company. The WCM has the objective to improve the performance of the production, eliminating wastes within the organizations, leading them to reach zero waste, zero breakdown, zero defect and zero stock. Its founder, the professor Yamashina, is responsible to apply and audit this methodology in several companies around the world and its results are examples of success. Throughout a case study, in the factory of this work, was evaluated the strategic, cultural and operational aspects for a change of manufacturing methodology. This work showed that the results from the three years of work with the WCM were enough to cause change in culture, but a long-term work is needed to achieve zero defect target.
