A tipografia como elemento cenográfico

Abstract

This article aims to present and discuss the possible usage of typography within the theatrical set design. Its development is traced by research on the history of typography, its use and its relationship with the arts, so that its function can be understood. Then, typography is studied in the theatrical context, where the word is more commonly spoken than written; and, finally, we propose a case-study of the play Amorfo, in which the aforementioned use of typography is explored, showing that its presence on scenery can help contextualize the narrative, the interpretation of the work, and that it interacts directly with the play.
