| dc.description.abstract | The objective of this work was to evaluate the Environmental Perception of the Recyclers of a Sanitary Landfill in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador, aiming to evaluate the understanding of the recyclers around the environmental perception related to the garbage in their work environment and in their home, informing about the importance of recycling, offering better conditions in the work environment, improved life as well as better management strategies. Environmental preservation is a matter of great concern in society, the disposal of large-scale waste in the cities, entails social, economic, political and environmental problems. The presence of this worker of recyclable materials is of paramount importance and is the key piece for the reduction of the waste disposal in the dumps, since the residues deposited from the homes, industrial, among others, and the destination for recycling through their work, this function, which part of the need for income and has its social function, and strategic performance for the conservation of the environment and sanitary landfills. These recyclers are a true agent who lacks public policy só that they are valued for their contribution to the life of landfills and the environment. Then, a questionnaire was carried out, through field research exposing socioeconomic aspects related to environmental perception, applied to 38 recyclers. The results were analyzed and the conclusion showed that there were changes in the environmental perception of the recyclers, since they are looking for an improvement in the quality of life, through the application of the questionnaire where it shows what means “environment”, which means “recycling” some of them did not know how to respond, but I managed to pass with a few words the meaning of each word that for some of them was new. At the end, 14 of the recyclers were hired by a company, where an evaluation was made with a social service team, as they have some functions, só it was necessary to give the opportunity to those who wanted to resume their work in companies, with various benefits such as salary, health and dental plan, food card and pass card.Environmental perception is essential to understand the interrelationships with your environment and community and serves as an instrument for planning. | |
