dc.description.abstractThe reliability of medicines is directly related to the health of their consumers, so in Brazil the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) is responsible for verifying that they meet the relevant quality requirements, requirements that are gauged in laboratories of origin of the drug through analytical methodologies that have their reliability attested through analytical validations, are measured in laboratories of origin of the drug through analytical methodologies that have their reliability attested by analytical validations, which can use as a analytical standard a characterized reference chemical. To characterize these substance, it is indispensable to follow the ANVISA RDC 166 normative resolution of July 24, 2017, which state that this material must ensure its identity, quality, content and potency. Due to the possibility of working with this type of characterized substances the present monograph presents the synthesis and complete characterization of 4-aminophenol which had paracetamol as its starting material, and its structural characterization is elucidated through the techniques that complement each other, being them Infrared spectroscopy, UV-vis spectrophotometry, High resolution masses and carbon and hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance, for the confirmation of purity and power were performed by liquid chromatography analysis among others. Finally it was ensured that the featured material has the relevant characteristics for which it is proposed.
