dc.description.abstract | Hammer mill productivity has been the subject of several research by animal feed manufacturers. These problems lead to an increase in the milling time, making it inefficient for the process and despite all the mechanisms available in the market if it is subject to these errors. To obtain the best yield in less time it is necessary to carry out bibliographical researches and practical tests for proof. For these reasons companies seek to eliminate bottlenecks in production and tailor their processes. In order to carry out this work, bibliographical research and tests were carried out in relation to the number of axes and hammers, thickness of the hammers and also in relation to the thickness and open area of the sieves in hammer mills. With the reduction of the number of shafts and hammers and the reduction of the thickness of the hammers and sieves, we had a reduction time of 17.26%, that is, the grinding time decreased from 265 seconds to 219 seconds. This study can be used by companies that need to improve their milling process by making adjustments to the size of their mill, respecting capacity limits, using improvement techniques and measures in the process. | |
