Abstract

This work was the subject of the implementation Of the medicinal garden in the school, and the use of medicinal plants by the students and the community, rescuing the values, habits and culture of them, exploring the popular knowledge and practices for the promotion and recovery of health, through the use of plants Medicinal. disseminating the knowledge and making of the traditional popular culture, providing the development and the critical-reflective learning of the students. The Horta was deployed in a school in the city of Franca/SP, with the participation of one hundred elementary school students, teachers and staff, with the purpose of disseminating and encouraging the use of these herbs. The data raised showed that 72% of students and 56% of employees learned to use herbs for medicinal or food purposes through family members. The work showed that 90% of respondents, use medicinal plants daily, in preparation of teas with therapeutic benefits, spices and condiments. Therefore the work presents an analysis on the knowledge and use of the plants by the students and employees, proving that the popular knowledge of medicinal plants is shared along the Generations.
