O conceito da sustentabilidade na prática da engenharia civil na construção

Abstract

This project aims to characterize the concept of sustainability in customers and civil engineers in the field of construction, verifying how people understand, accept and apply methods and sustainable solutions in their lives and buildings. In this study were used two different quizzes according to the target, one for customers and one for professionals. The population evaluated was a small sample of residents in Curitiba, Paraná. After collecting data through the quizzes the results were analyzed. The results showed that most people do not understand how important sustainability is and therefore, people do not apply it. It was concluded that even being aware of the need to preserve the environment, the professionals give little importance to sustainable methods and customers usually opt for cheaper solutions.
