As water is a limited resource and due to the increase in population in urban areas, if there is no control over water consumption, there will be risks of water scarcity in the near future. Regarding the control of water consumption, what we have in the current model applied to housing units is that the resident only observes their monthly consumption, which is displayed, either by the hydrometer clock, or by the bill itself, and it is not routine to graphic or even quantitative visualization of the use of water in your daily life. For many, getting this consumption control on a daily basis can become exhausting and difficult to adapt to the routine. Thus, the main objective of the work is to bring a solution to control water consumption in the condominium’s housing units in order to avoid waste. It is proposed, therefore, to present a low-cost electronic sensing device, which will be coupled to the water supply net work of all housing units in the condominium, providing residents with the possibility of keeping control of their own consumption. An API will be developed and made available to make it possible to integrate with condominium management systems and, from the monitoring of water consumption, the system will identify significant changes, such as leaks, sending an alert to the resident and the condominium. From this perspective, the entire data collection process will be automated, generating security and savings for condominiums and avoiding unnecessary excessive consumption.
