dc.description.abstractThe main goal of thisexploratory study is to identify and characterize the benefits that theSchool-Enterprise Cooperation can offer to teaching process and to School. Italso tries to characterize the enterprise as an important source of informationto help teacher to improve his activities. Among the aspects and factorsdescribed, the study points out limitations, facilities and stimulus for Cooperation. The theory in this field on thisstudy discusses the enterprise necessity of technology at a competitive and global economic environment and theeducational Institution that needs to incorporate a new function: to contributefor economic development. The School-Enterprise Cooperation is presented as analternative that can complement both partners for their own objectives. It is presented a casestudy of Federal Center of Technological Educational of Parana State -CEFET-PR, an outstanding Brazilian Institution at this area. A theoreticalmodel has been developed, based on suitable literature, and it includes theteaching process as great advance of this study. After this, the proposed modelis evaluated by comparison with a teacher’s survey, obtained by questions andanswer during an interview. The final model presents all the relevant aspectsand factors, shows those most important and incorporates same suggestions. As acomplementary analysis, the study includes an interview with six coursecoordinators and five cooperation manager, which were compared to the teacher’ssurvey. This comparison offers a better understanding about organizationaltheory and Cooperation process. It also allows future proposals to improve education system. The Cooperation shows high potential to developadditional behaviors that in normalacademic conditions would not be acquired, such as interdisciplinary vision,better understanding about professional profile and it incentives for reading additional bibliography. The main problem observed at this study is thenecessity of a suitable management of Patents, Intellectual Property and newmethods to stimulate the work as a team. Beyond the contribution for regionaleconomic development, the School-Enterprises Cooperation shows its importanceas strategy to develop the teacher and improve the institutional education quality.The model obtained does not intend to be a pattern for Brazilian EducationInstitutions, but a guideline for people that desire to develop theSchool-Enterprise Cooperation, challenge for both partners, and to facilitatethe elaboration of suitable proposes into their context and necessities.
