dc.description.abstract | This work documents the process of designing, sizing, simulating and implementing a low-cost circuit to emulate an oscilloscope probe, enabling measurements of electrical current with no need for intervention in the circuit being measured neither acquiring a commercial device for this purpose. It uses concepts of analog electronics and electromagnetism to review two circuits proposed separately to operate with direct and alternating currents and make the integration between them. It covers the testing of a magnetic flux sensor and the use of operational amplifiers, passive components, and a zinc and manganese toroidal core. It also presents results of measurements performed with the physically built circuit and possible reasons for issues in some situations, proposing tests that can be done in similar works. | |
