dc.description.abstractIn this work, it was proposed and realized the synthesis of CdSe/CdS core/shell type quantum dots via organometallic route, as like the optical and electronic characterization by UV-VIS spectroscopy and photoluminescence, evidencing the formation of a CdS shell around CdSe nuclei. Also, it was studied the characteristics of CdSe and CdS quantum dots, characterizing the optoelectronic properties of each one of these nanocrystals, measuring its energy gaps through Tauc’s method and effective mass approximation. The proposed synthesis for confection of these nanocrystal were well succeeded, obtaining CdSe quantum dots with distinct sizes and narrow emissions, beyond the surface passivation with a CdS shell, minimizing the emissions occurred by trap states in the nanocrystal’s interface.
