dc.description.abstract | Among the technologies used in medicine, the pulmonary ventilator is one of the most important. Lung ventilators (also called artificial respirators) are devices used to promote artificial respiration in patients, and thus enable the treatment of various respiratory diseases. With the emergence of Coronavirus, cardiorespiratory diseases became the focus of several researchers and projects. Because of this, the Federal Technological University of Paraná and the Federal Institute of Paraná developed a pulmonary respirator that was called the VENT-U2 project. ln this work, it will be described how the readjustment of the actuation system of the VENT-U2 project was made, through the replacement of automotive inlet gas valves by proportional valves and the redesign of the printed circuit board to activate them. First, the test procedures for the new valves are described, then how the modifications were made to activate them are described, and finally, the results are presented and a comparison is made between the VENT-U2 project and the new prototype. | |
