The Salt Spray test consists of an accelerated corrosion test that simulates the actual weathering conditions, aiming at the preliminary evaluation of materials, especially metallic ones, when in contact with a marine environment. In this work, a bracket for screw was developed aiming at the optimization of the salt spray test, in order to make the whole process of the test more efficient. For the development, two polymeric materials, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyamide (PA), were used. From the bracket developed, samples of the same type of screw provided by the company Ciser Parafusos e Porcas, were conducted for testing, following the standard ASTM B117. With this test it was possible to conclude that the angulation between the screw and the bracket have influence of the results of the salt spray test. On the other hand, the two materials (PVC and PA) were not influenced by the saline environment, and the device was essential for the standardization of the samples during the test. For the purpose of mechanical comparison, a tensile test was performed with the test specimens previously submitted to the salt spray teste and later. It was possible to notice a difference of resistance between the types of materials. PA resulted in higher mechanical resistance compared to PVC, however with the market price, it is valid to work with PVC because this material proved to be efficient for this application
