dc.description.abstractThe prestressed flat slab system has been increasingly highlighted in the current scenario of civil construction, due to its various advantages from the structural and architectural point of view, thus leading several companies and professionals to be interested in the subject. The complexity of the theme is mainly due to the design of the puncture structure, as these efforts represent the main disadvantage of flat slabs in general. The objective of this work is to design a prestressed flat slab of an event building. In addition, its structural behavior will be analyzed and compared with the same reinforced concrete dimensioned system. For this, the procedures for sizing and detailing of the structure under study will be performed using the TQS software and the comparison between prestressed and reinforced concrete systems will be performed in terms of stresses, displacements and calculated reinforcement areas. The results of the analyzes indicated the real contribution of prestressing in the flat slabs, as its influence is positive in different aspects, resulting in less robust reinforcement and lower stress. It can thus be stated that prestressing has a favorable effect on the sizing of flat slabs and effectively fights puncture in the prestressed regions.
