dc.description.abstractCurrently one of the biggest environmental concerns is the emerging pollutants. The present final paper aims to prepare, characterize and evaluate the applicability of Fe/TiO2 magnetic photo catalysts in the reduction of selenium (IV), which is considered an emerging pollutant. From the preparation of four catalysts with different nominal metal loads (2, 8, 14 and 20%), it was possible to compare by means of photo catalysis their performance of catalysts that were treated thermal or not, relating to their respective metallic loads, concluding that their performance is related to the thermal treatment and their respective nominal metallic load, and that the sol-gel method is efficient for the preparation of Fe/TiO2 photo catalysts, since all were catalytically active.
