Portland cement is one of the most used products in construction. However, its production process causes some irreversible environmental impacts. Studies to minimize the environmental impacts caused by Portaland Cement production have intensified. There are many alternatives aimed at reducing environmental impacts, such as the use of cement additives, including blast furnace slag, fly ash, pozzolans and limestone, which can be used as a partial or total clinker substitute. In the case of blast furnace slag it can be used as a total substituent and give rise to the Supersulfated Cement. This is generated during the production of pig iron, however, as it is an industrial waste, the slag may have different chemical composition depending on the way it was obtained, playing a determining role in the quality of the supersulfated cement produced. Thus, finding means for determining the proper dosage of slag to be used is extremely important. Given this, the present work applies the Linear Programming technique using the Simplex method available in Excel Solver to determine the dosage of different slag to be used to produce supersulfated cements with similar chemical composition. In this work three simulations were performed, one using acidic slag, another basic and another using a mixture of acidic and basic slag. At the end of the study, it was possible to obtain the three dosages of supersulfated cement, with similar chemical composition.
