dc.description.abstractSchoolchildren spend most of their time in the classroom sitting posture but are not always comfortable and safe. School furniture along with other physical factors influence various behaviors of students in the classroom. This project aims to verify the anthropometric adequacy between the norms, the school chairs and their respective users. It is observed that school chairs have ergonomic actors that can influence the physical health of students and consequently their school performance. The research has an applied, exploratory, descriptive and quantitative nature, aiming to collect data regarding anthropometric measurements of students, the measurements of furniture (chair) compared to NBR 14006: 2008. The collection took place from August / 2018 to October / 2019, in a state institution in the city of Ponta Grossa, which used the direct method to perform the measurements. Ergolândia 7.0 software was used to obtain the anthropometric estimates of the students. It was observed that in the research groups the school seats do not have the appropriate dimensions for their users and even if there are standardized dimensional standards, these are neglected by the school managers. The study indicates that the lack of interface between students and school seats compromises the teaching and learning process and negatively corroborates the skeletal muscle development of students in development. the back to broaden the discussion about this post of the teaching and learning process in elementary schools.
