dc.description.abstractRainwater harvesting systems are identified as an important source of water to meet the demands of water. In general, the reservoir volume is determined by system efficiency processes. The adopted emission model, the utilization system can be super or undersized for the precipitation profile of the region. This work is a study about the rainwater harvesting system installed at the Federal Technological University of the Paraná campus of Londrina-UTFPR-LD. The reservoir was analyzed by explicit operation. The analysis of leakage losses and water filling faults, as well as the rainwater consumption measured for use in the toilets in the buildings were considered. Thus, a group analysis determined the optimal size of the reserve volume. The flow rate for the rated toilets was measured and an average value of 1.32 l.s-1 was found with a standard deviation of 0.3 l.s-1. The average rainfall production was in the period of 1 month to 3.82 m³ in average, being from Monday to Saturday. It was graphic graph of extravasation of rainwater and use of water of external outlet of volume of reservoir with a small extravasation and use of external water of 25 m³ for a demand of 3.82 m³. The period of financial return of the system was 2 years and 7 months.
