dc.description.abstractPrecision Agriculture consists of the integration of physical and technological information in the management, which allows a more detailed recognition of the territory of planting, allowing improvements throughout the production process. The use of GPS allows this physical and technological evaluation of the area, but its high cost limits the acquisition by the producer. One of the alternatives that the producer has found has been the mobile applications for mapping areas. A survey was made of an area with geodetic, topographic and navigation GPS receivers and specific applications to compare their performance, area estimation. There are different GNSS receivers, and are generally classified in Geodesics, Topography and Navigation. The difference between them is, beyond the cost of acquisition, in the level of accuracy achieved in their handsets. The study area was defined by criteria such as easy location, accessibility, mobile internet coverage and the need for accurate mapping. Topographic surveys were performed using GPS receivers topographic, geodetic, navigation, and a Smartphone. When comparing the collection data with Topographic and Geodesic receivers, it is observed that there is coherence in the values. The navigation receivers were also accurate when compared to applications. For the smartphone applications, there was a high change in the total area and the perimeter. The applications obtained the worse results, generating maps with distortions and variations in the size of area when compared between them and with receiver Geodesic.
