dc.description.abstractThe new technologies are being made available in the school context with a variety of resources and means of interaction, which involve both the students and the teachers. However, these technological innovations are doing some schools to create certain resistance to digital media, for this is a traditionally conservative environment. Thus, this research aims to arouse the interest of students to foreign language teaching through the use of ICT; to create a Facebook page, to practice the Writing skills, in relation to the production of the digital genres meme and photopoem; to deepen Writing techniques through the use of different methods of interaction such as Facebook and WhatsApp; and to present and analyze the educational product developed by the researcher. For this, the research is based on the assumptions of some authors like Araújo and Leffa (2016); Phillips, Baird and Fogg (2012); and Marcuschi and Xavier (2004; 2010 e 2011), which discuss issues such as reading and textual production in digital age and language teaching based on new technologies. As methodological procedures were used the descriptive research, literature, analytical, experimental, field and action research. To obtain the data, were analyzed the results of the productions of the genres meme and photopoema based on some criteria, being: in terms of engagement of the students, use of the English Language, positive points raised by the students and appropriation of the characteristics of the proposed genres. It is believed that the proposed activities met the scopes and presented positive points, since there was the creation of the Facebook page, it was possible to work on Writing's skills, the students produced, in a satisfactory and creative way, the genres meme and photopoem, and their textual productions were published on the social network Facebook. It is expected to offer a contribution to the educational field, specifically to the English Language teaching area.
