dc.description.abstractBased on the perspective of the study of beliefs about language learning, particularly considering the context of the teaching/learning of English, this research aims to investigate and interpret the beliefs of students from public and private schools from Curitiba. Furthermore, this project proposes observing how the students’ beliefs contribute/influence the process of learning. For this purpose, this work is primarily based on the studies of Barcelos (1995, 2001, 2004, 2006) and Silva (2010, 2011). A questionnaire and an interview are administered as a source of data collection for the present project. Finally, the analysis of the data and interpretations of the students’ speeches will be associated with the beliefs and the implications they cause in language learning.
