dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to analyze the written production of non-routine problems high school students math of a municipal school of Santa Mariana using a written test with questions from PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment). The aim of this work answer questions such as: how can we use the records produced by the students to solve non-routine problems of mathematics, in order to check the most important aspects of the resolution process of these problems and the difficulties and mistakes? What are the strategies to solve non-routine problems? What are the most common errors? The methodology of this study was qualitative methodology, it seeks to understand the reality, taking into account the relationship and everyday interaction in which the researcher is based on the interpretation to understand the phenomena displayed by all participants. Considering the similarities between the productions, the tests were grouped by resolution procedures. Thus, it was possible to identify some characteristics of student productions. This work shows that it is possible to use the written production of students as practical research in order to identify students' difficulties in relation to non-routine math problems.
