Abstract

We must understand the reality: the construction is not perfect. Construction defects are easy to find and often originate poor and confused projects, as well as, when properly prepared, are not met in the construction site. The amount of people involved in the work, many unskilled, equivocal techniques, impairs the quality, even if sometimes do not indicate risks to safety of the building. However, lack of maintenance and reforms, by the homeowner, also compromise the quality and safety may not unfairly indicate the constructor for this failure. As the property has many embedded systems, each with its own pattern of installing and maintaining life, the anomalies should be traced and grounded by a qualified professional. This monograph discusses the origin and responsibility for defects in buildings, showing that both consumer and entrepreneur when no external factors, fail to carry or use of the property.
