dc.description.abstractThis assignment presents an analysis about the Social Responsibility (SR) of a company that produces home appliances («Company X»), from the southeast of Paraná, Brazil. It is known that the SR has been more and more present in the organizations, since the ones that want to increase their participation or even maintain their marketshare are pressed by the sustainable patterns determined by legislations and the demands of the consumer goods – which is more aware to this aspects. Therefore, the present research has as general objective to understand the actions of RS of the «Company X» that carries out several social projects and to verify the motivations that lead the managers to develop projects related to RS. To achieve these goals, we used semi-structured interviews, questionnaires and documents. Analysis were performed through content analysis, and data triangulation to make research more robust. The research had a qualitative approach, with a descriptive case study, where the reality of «Company X» was observed and we tried to answer the following research question: What motivates managers to invest in SR actions? And, the main motivations found, in this specific case, were: to generate human development and meet the expectations of the society, encouraging social balance; it was also possible to verify, that the SR actions started because the founder of the company always appreciated to help the society, allowing to conclude that the «Company X» is in a process of transition from philanthropy to Social Responsibility.
