The three-phase induction motor is widely used in industry, and oftenly operated with loads far below the rated load, resulting in decreased energy efficiency. A strategy for increasing energy efficiency is to control the air-gap flux of the machine through a scalar driver. This work proposes the use of an algorithm Differential Evolution to optimize the air-gap flux, in order to increase the three-phase induction motor efficiency. Simulation and experimental results are presented to validate the proposed methodology.
