dc.description.abstract | The electronic stethoscope is a listening device that allows you to record and
analyze the sound during the consultation or at another time. Currently, there is sufficient
evidence to prove the advantages of the instrument compared to the traditional model such
as graphic recording of sound and reduction of the subjectivity of acoustic auscultation
interpretation. With the purpose of studying a method that analysis of cardiac sounds with
the electronic stethoscope, this research aims to present how the analysis of cardiac sounds
contributes to the diagnosis of cardiac disease in small dogs, with the benefit of graphical and
numerical visualization of the beep. For this, a total of 56 animals were submitted to acoustic
and electronic auscultation, as well as the numerical analysis of the duration of the cardiac
cycle, relative time of systole and relative amplitude. The data obtained through the acoustic
auscultation were correlated with the electronic auscultation and analyzed. The results
showed it is possible to obtain the healthy animals characteristics. However, through the
parameters analyzed, it is not possible to identify a animals with cardiac murmur
characteristic. | |
