dc.description.abstractEquipment and structures are constantly subjected to unwanted mechanical vibrations, which could impair its operation or lead to damage to its structure. Techniques for vibration attenuation are widely studied, ranging from advanced models of active control and use of smart materials even more viable solutions such as passive control by Dynamic Vibration Absorbers. The ADV are systems that are coupled to a structure which it is desired to reduce the vibration levels, tuned at the same natural frequency so the resonance peak of the primary system is eliminated. The analysis consists on the observation of the primary damped and undamped system response, both with 1 degree of freedom, when coupled to a passive ADV to observe their behavior when varying their mass. The increase of the frequency band that it can be applied decreases its limitation in application.
