dc.description.abstractThis work is a literature review of journals classified in the A1 and A2 levels of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel on the theme insertion of Modern and Contemporary Physics in high school. The criterion for the selection of articles was the presence of the keyword “Modern Physics” in the titles of the articles. The initial time frame was 2010 and the final one was 2019. Forty (40) articles were selected. The analysis allowed the creation of five categories (i) Articles that discuss the insertion of Modern and Contemporary Physics in High School, (ii) Articles about Modern Physics in Higher Education, (iii) Articles related to Modern and Contemporary Physics and teacher training, (iv) Literature reviews or mappings about the theme Modern and Contemporary Physics and (v) Others. From the integrative review it was evident that, although the topics related to CMF are present in the Common National Curricular Base, the existence of some variables hinders the approach of modern physics in high school – such as, for example, the lack of time, teacher preparation and even the school reality. Thus, the review allowed us to realize that although the attempts to insert modern and contemporary physics are not new, it is still necessary to seek solutions for its insertion in high school to actually happen.
