dc.description.abstractProblems involving fluid mechanics and material resistance have been receiving special attention since the space age and day after day engineers are looking for increasingly efficient and cost-effective solutions to solve mathematical problems. In the aerospace industry, research into the interaction of air with the structure of an aircraft has a lot of influence on the entire aerodynamic and structural design as flight loads are treated in a statistical manner. The experimental tests carried out by the industry are costly and always doomed to some setback, so the computational methods have come to aid the engineering projects and to reduce the costs of production. Also, along with this technological advance, the application of new sensors in intelligent structures, which aim to optimize the lifetime of a component or even to predict a fault, is verified. In this way, the present work aims to study, using a piezoelectric sensor, the vibration modes of a plate subjected to a flow in order to observe the operation of the piezoelectric ceramics as well as the processing of the acquired signals.
