dc.description.abstract | Throughout the world, bamboo has been in use in many different areas, since energy matrix, food source and as a substitute of raw materials such as steel, asbestos, cement and other non-renewable pollutants. In Brazil, these researches have been in development since the 1970s by researchers such as Khosrow Ghavami, from the Department of Civil Engineering of PUC-Rio. In UTFPR-Campus Pato Branco, an incentive and research on the use of this material in several areas is Professor Fabiano Ostapiv, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The present work intends on an evaluation of the apparent density of the stems, and mechanical proprieties, flexion and compression of bamboo pieces, based on NBR7190 (ABNT, 1997). Wood, ISO 22156 (IS, 2016) - Bamboo - Estructural Design, IS 6874 (BIS, 2008) - Method of tests for bamboo, as well as published works. With the records, treatment and analysis of the data the characteristic resistance of the species was proposed. In order to demonstrate its use in the civil construction, we dimensioned a roof element of Phyllostachys aurea, replacing the original third in Angelim pedra, in a roof system. | |
