dc.description.abstractThis study aimed at verifying the learning gap among students of Biological Sciences, as well as mapping their receptiveness to possible content recovery activities. 115 students of approximately 32 different institutions volunteered to the study and answered to a questionnaire of data collection. It was found that there is learning gap among undergraduate students and there was no difference among those from public or private education regarding the difficulties in following undergraduate courses. The greatest difficulties were related to basic disciplines in the exact sciences and to the areas of Biochemistry, Genetics, Calculus, Chemistry and Biophysics. It was also possible to verify that suspension, discontinuation or abandonment of disciplines or course failures seem to be related to these gaps and to teacher’s methodology. Finally, undergraduate students seemed receptive to supporting activities parallel to undergraduation.
